Dr. Maram Khazen holds a PhD in Communication and is a research fellow at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women Hospital and a senior lecturer in the Department of Health Administration Systems at the Max Stern Yezreel Valley College, Israel. She is also a community pharmacist in the Arab-Palestinian minority in Israel. Her primary research interest is in the broad area of health communication as it relates to communication among healthcare workers, and between them and patients, and quality of diagnosis communication. Her work is also focused on the experience of healthcare staff and patients who belong to marginalized communities and minorities. She is an advocate for social development and has been involved in health initiatives targeted to the Arab-Palestinian and the Ethiopian minorities in Israel.
