Director of Policy and Strategy, Care Quality Commission; England

Joyce Frederick is the Director of Policy and Strategy at the Care Quality Commission (CQC). She is a science graduate and has an MBA in public sector management. She started her career in the NHS working in clinical governance and management roles. She has worked for various regulatory commissions in health and social care and at the Department of Health and Social Care. She was Deputy Chief Inspector for Registration at CQC during the Covid Pandemic, and following this led on patient safety action plan and response to harm at DHSC. She is a member of the CQC Executive team. Joyce is passionate about developing good regulation that drives improvements in the quality and safety of care, improves outcomes for people and reduces inequalities
