Engaging with patients and family caregivers is a core component of a high functioning health care system and integral to improving the quality of services developed. A 7-part Engagement Learning Series (interactive webinars and workbooks) was co-designed with and for patient and caregiver partners and health system operators to support them in engaging authentically in service improvements. In this session we will reflect on key lessons learned and opportunities to scale the work in future iterations.

As a result of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand enablers and barriers to engaging patients, caregivers and communities in curriculum design and delivery

  2. Understand key engagement competencies identified by patients, caregivers and other partners that was reflected in the curriculum

  3. Apply core principles in curriculum design and engagement to support work with patients, caregivers and broader communities
