Jourdan Emily Hancock is the Youth Arts Coordinator at the Sydney Children’s Hospital (Randwick). Jourdan has been establishing this role over the last year in developing a co-design Youth Arts program with young people, adjacent to the transitional care team at Trapeze. Jourdan holds a Master’s of Art Therapy with distinction at Western Sydney University in 2018 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours with the University of New South Wales, 2014. Jourdan is interested in understanding how artmaking practices may engage young people to creatively connect to diagnosis and experience accessing health care services. This interest is looking at ways young people can improve health outcomes in having the opportunity to look at health holistically and develop a reflexive and visual language for understanding health.
