Prof Tan is Group Director & Senior Associate Dean, SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute for Patient Safety & Quality (IPSQ), Singapore. He initiated the SingHealth Patient Advocacy Network (SPAN) in 2017 and currently serve as a SPAN advisor. He was the Chair of National Quality Council from June 2017 to May 2021, which served as the national advisory panel to Singapore Ministry of Health, on health quality priorities and strategies. Prof Tan is an expert member of Patient Safety in World Health Organisation and serves as a WHO consultant in patient safety. He is awarded the Benjamin Henry Sheares Professorship by Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore for his outstanding contributions in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
