Lauren Cooper

Lauren Cooper is a former Sydney Children’s Hospital patient who transitioned to the Adult healthcare system in 2018. Lauren is currently studying for a Bachelor of Media and Communications at Macquarie University, and has co-developed an art program called ‘Photographing Voices’ with Jourdan Emily Hancock for the Youth Arts Program (YAP). Lauren also spoke at the 2020 Health Leadership Conference to share her story and experience in the healthcare system. Lauren is passionate about the importance of art making within the healthcare system and how it positively impacts sick people and assists with their recovery. Due to Laurens own personal health struggles she has seen just how important art making is and just how vital it is for mental health.
