Karen Phillips is the parent of a young person with Autism and intellectual disability. Ms Phillips has had roles as Autism Parent Support Joint Coordinator Canterbury, NSW (2010-2014) and Parent Advisor and Presenter, NSW Dept of Education, Transition from Public Primary School to Public High School, Support Unit (2015-2016). Ms Phillips is also an associate investigator with A/Prof Harrison and Ms Mimmo on a participatory research study with children/young people with intellectual disability in hospital.


In addition, Ms Phillips is the Change and Innovation Facilitator with the Clinical Governance Unit at The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. She has 8 years’ experience in change management, supporting organisation wide change. In her current role she supports clinical teams to identify, develop and undertake quality improvement activities across the Network. Ms Phillips was previously a Clinical Dietitian for 10 years.
