Johan Hellings is a part-time lecturer (as from October 2020 senior lecturer) and researcher (20%), chair of the multidisciplinary research group on patient safety at University Hasselt.

Co lecturer of “Health Policy” for economic students. He is developing a new, unique masters program in Flanders for Uhasselt on “healthcare engineering”: starting up in 2022 – 2023.

The Patient Safety Culture Database, focussing on patient safety culture in hospitals (HSOPSC) is one of the largest databases in the EU.
