International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare Sydney 2022 is postponed

The in-person International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in Sydney, Australia will now take place on 24-26 July 2022.

The International Forum in Sydney is postponed to July 2022

We are mindful that covid-19 continues to put pressure on the healthcare system and staff in Australia, with burnout and stress triggered by the pandemic, at a record high.

Also considering the additional challenges posed by the recent East Coast floods, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and BMJ have decided to postpone the forthcoming International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in Sydney until late July.

We are sympathetic and supportive of the efforts of colleagues, communities and the wider population to emerge out of the pandemic and put recovery across a number of fronts in motion. We are working hard to make this International Forum an empowering occasion for health and care improvers to re-energise and form connections that drive progress and transformation on a large scale.

New dates for the conference: 24-26 July 2022

We are deeply committed to delivering this much anticipated conference as an in-person event. We believe that this format offers attendees, speakers and everyone involved the best possible experience and opportunity to reach their goals.

Additionally, for those unable to travel to Sydney for the conference, we are also exploring options to offer some of the conference content virtually, and we will share further details as soon as we are able to do so.

What happens next?

We apologise for the inconvenience that our decision to postpone this International Forum may cause you, this has not been an easy decision to make.

All delegates registered for the International Forum in June will be automatically transferred to the rescheduled conference in July. They also have the option to cancel and request a full refund.

The deadline to register for the International Forum on 24-26 July with Early Bird prices is extended until 15 June and our Call for ePosters will remain open until 27 April.

We hope to see you in July for what we hope is an unforgettable celebration of everything the quality improvement community has to offer in these challenging times.
