PART ONE – Investing in our next generation of nursing and midwifery improvement leaders

Clinical leadership and engagement of early career professionals is fundamental to leading improvement across our health and care system.

Across England we have created two national Nursing & Midwifery QI Networks, supporting delivery of the Long-Term Plan’s ambition for quality and the National Patient Safety Strategy, building leadership capability, knowledge and skills in quality improvement.

The network is building a community of next generation leaders, providing a platform to use their voice to influence national policy and practice, creating a system wide approach for improvement.

Sharing our collaborative approach and journey, from concept through codesign, development and implementation, listening to members as to why the network is important to them.

As a result of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Sharing our roadmap and methodology in establishing a network, from concept and idea through co-design, development and implementation.

  • Understand the benefits of investing in the next generation of early career leaders, creating a system wide supportive environment for improvement.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of what makes for effective learning networks.
