V1: Creating spaces for listening in healthcare
Format: Online session
Stream: Leading
Content filters: n/a
In this session we explore what it takes to listen more, and what happens when we do. We explain what #SpacesForListening involves, and share the value of listening gathered through people’s experiences in over 350 of such spaces convened weekly since May 2020. Far more than a set of skills or specific interventions, this is a way of being with each other. Building on these experiences, we consider what this could mean for how we create and sustain a culture of listening in healthcare. In particular, what can sharing #SpacesForListening mean for how people in professional roles and people accessing services engage more openly and relationally with each other?
As a result of the session, participants will be able to:
- Explore how we can listen to each other with more care, curiosity, and attention
- Understand we do not need to fix each other to feel more human and connected
- Consider how we can have better conversations in our organisations and communities
- Participate in a naturally unfolding dialogue alongside other participants and facilitators
