Service user/carer involvement in improvement work is crucial for impact, without the voice of those we serve, improvement efforts may be futile and unacceptable.

Over the past 10 years ELFT has been on a coproduction journey, striving to include service users in all improvement work. Currently, over 40% of QI projects include service users as active QI team members. Participants will learn how to support staff to ensure service user involvement and how to encourage service users to be part of improvement work by building the foundations for the infrastructure to impactful involvement.

As a result of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how to authentically involve service users/carers in quality improvement

  • Learn how build an infrastructure to support service user/carer involvement

  • Identify the first steps to meaningful service user involvement

  • Hear from improver with lived experience the impact of being involved in improvement
