A key role of every leader, at all levels, is to support and nurture the wellbeing of the staff they lead. The IHI Joy and Well-being Framework offers proven methods to foster a positive work environment, creating the conditions for equity, camaraderie, meaning, and control, even in stressful times. This session will explore improvement approaches to improve staff well-being, looking at specific strategies and tools and hearing about work at Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust, to support leaders as they tackle this vital area, with an improvement approach that fosters a culture to ensure workforce well-being and a workplace where everyone can flourish.

After this session delegates will be able to:

  • Identify key leadership principles for supporting staff and team wellbeing

  • Apply lessons learned within their own team and organisation

  • Demonstrate the ways leaders at every level can contribute to building and fostering a culture of wellbeing
