As leaders of change, we are seeking to make improvements across complex systems in a world that is increasingly dynamic, uncertain and where there is often no “right” answer. This is the era of the versatilist, beyond the specialist or the generalist. Versatilists are able to apply deep skills to a widening range of situations and experiences, assuming new roles as change happens. They are capable of not only of constantly adapting but also of constantly learning and growing. In this challenging and highly interactive workshop, we will consider our own journeys as leaders of improvement from past, present to a versatilist future and reflect on the practical implications and opportunities ahead. We will leave our comfort zone and create a learning zone.
As a result of this minicourse, participants will be able to:
- Gain new perspectives on our own roles as leaders of improvement: our journey to now and future aspirations and possibilities
- Discover novel ways to support people to grow, generate capacity for change and keep learning processes flourishing from a versatilist perspective
- Identify principles and specifics to feed into existing future-planning processes
- Build our collective capability to create a different future as a group of leaders by working together in a different way
